The Get Started page in Atom Admin walks you through four steps in order:
  1. Enable app embed
  2. Set up extensions (optional)
  3. Set up Shopify POS (optional)
  4. Create offer
The first and fourth steps are completed automatically by Atom Admin. The two optional steps are marked Done or Skipped when you choose the matching button in the app.
Theme status applies to your Shopify live theme only. After changing an app embed or app block in Shopify, click Save, return to Atom Admin, and click Refresh status before continuing.

1. Enable app embed

The Atom Discounts App embed is required for storefront offers. This step cannot be skipped or marked done manually.
  1. On Get Started, click Enable app embed.
  2. Review the instructions, then open Shopify’s live-theme editor.
  3. In App embeds, enable Atom Discounts App.
  4. Click Save in Shopify.
  5. Return to Get Started and click Refresh status.
The step changes to App embed (ready) only after Atom Admin detects the saved embed on your live theme. Use Manage app embed to reopen its Shopify settings later.
If the status remains inactive, confirm you edited the live theme—not a draft theme—and saved your changes before refreshing status.

2. Set up extensions (optional)

This step adds optional storefront experiences. You can add the extensions that fit your store, then click Done. If you do not need them now, click Skip; you can return to Setup later. For each extension, Get Started shows its current live-theme status:
  • Not Added — add the block from the action provided.
  • Inactive — enable the existing extension in Shopify.
  • Active — use Manage Block or Manage App Embed to change it.
Use the extension action in Get Started to open the correct Shopify editor surface. Add or enable the extension, preview if helpful, click Save, then return to Atom Admin and select Refresh status.
Promotion Banner is not an available Atom extension and is not part of the current setup flow.

3. Set up Shopify POS (optional)

Use this step if store staff need to apply Atom Commerce offers during in-person sales.
  1. Click View setup guide to open the Shopify POS instructions.
  2. Complete the POS setup when you are ready.
  3. Return to Get Started and select Done, or choose Skip to complete it later.
Get Started records your choice; it does not independently verify your POS configuration. See Shopify POS Setup for the full workflow.

4. Create offer

Click Create offer to open the offer builder. This step is complete once your organization has at least one offer. If you leave the editor without creating an offer, Get Started remains on this step. After you create your first offer, you can select View offers to manage it and use Testing Offers before launch.

Completion states

When all four steps are complete, Get Started shows Done! and directs you to the Documentation menu for additional guides.
