# Coupon Batch Settings

> Control who can use a coupon batch, which discounts it combines with, and whether a code can be used more than once per customer.

These settings apply to every code in the batch. You set them when you
[create the batch](/coupons/creating) and can change them later on the
batch's **Settings** tab.

## Eligibility

Choose who can use the codes. By default, the batch is available to all
customers. You can limit it to specific customers, customer segments, or
markets.

## Combinations

Choose which other discounts this batch can be combined with: **order**,
**product**, and **shipping** discounts. All three are on by default.

## Discount limits

**Limit use of the code to once per customer** stops a customer from using the
same code on more than one order. It is off by default.

<Note>
  A batch has no expiration date or total redemption limit of its own. Dates come
  from the offers linked to the batch. See
  [Using coupon batches with offers](/coupons/using-with-offers#dates).
</Note>

## Changing settings on an existing batch

You can rename a batch and change these settings at any time. The settings that
control how codes are generated cannot be changed once the batch exists.

Eligibility, combinations, and limits are shared with every offer that uses the
batch, so a change affects all of them. When you save, a confirmation lists the
linked offers that will use the updated settings. The change takes effect after
Shopify accepts it.

After it is applied, a **Batch settings updated** entry appears in the batch's
**Timeline**. Select it to see what changed.
